Fees include: College Fee, Health Services Fee, Graduate Activity Fee, Technology Fee, Academic Excellence & Success Fee and Transportation Fee.

Housing and meal costs may vary depending on housing options and meal plan selected. Double dorm room and Wolfie Deluxe Meal Plan were used to calculate above meal and housing plans. All resident first year students are charged an additional fee for required opening weekend meals. All resident transfer students are charged an additional fee for opening weekend lunches.

Direct costs are charges paid to the University.

Indirect costs are not paid directly to the University. They are average regional costs based on the consumer price index. 

Transportation allowance may cover travel to the student's home during breaks in the semester. 

Personal expenses include clothing, personal maintenance, grooming aids, and recreation.

Full time students will be billed for health insurance through the University. The option to waive this cost will be available by providing proof of coverage to the Student Health Service at Stony Brook University.
